“No
matter who broke your heart, or how long it takes to heal, you’ll never get
through it without your friends.”- Carrie
Bradshaw, Sex and the City
Here’s introducing Donna &
Dhaasu, my best buddies, and since it’s my blog I get to be Diva.
Dhaasu and I grew up in
Kolkata…Donna and I forgot all the growing up in Delhi J. Well about us, we are students of the Hogwarts School of
Witchcraft and Wizardry. And as people, Donna and I are surely “Monica (F.R.I.E.N.D.S)” and Dhaasu
oscillates from being Chandler to Joey…with humor as his defense mechanism
and never letting go of the “how you doin?” attitude. Donna is also called “Memsaahib” for her English ways &
tastes. She prefers Danish pastries and Croissants to Paranthas and is chiefly
responsible for my sweet tooth and love for the color Purple. Dhaasu isn’t far
behind…the other day he invited me to have ‘high tea’. To best describe him
there’s a song “English thumke dil ki rhythm pe, mare jam jam ke desi boy”.
What binds us? Our secularism (we
come from Bengal, Kashmir, and Kerala…we soon want to upgrade to 4D so anyone
from the far West, there’s a vacancy), our passion for long, nonsensical chats
(from silly talks on Yahoo! Messenger with falling hearts environment to “ashleel baatein” on Gtalk & Skype),
love for food (we are green people chomping off all the chicken, mutton &
fish coming our way to preserve the trees), and our amazing persona (Courtesy:
DKNY, Zara, Maui Jim, Guess, Body Shop, Rayban, Lifestyle, Sabhyata, Mary Kay,
Kaya, etc.).
So three cheers to Donna and Dhaasu
for sticking around and “may the romance
& insanity never die” in our lives
– Sue, Rang De Basanti!

ReplyDelete@ Diva - The high tea cannot be high without your company.
miss the falling hearts in Ymessenger when it was actually us who felt the joy of watching them come,
all over our name.
Memsahib should come to stake the new roads and get high on some tea again.
Humor i may be or not, but i wish the best of times for all.

ReplyDeleteToo Good
ReplyDeleteBut i'm really interested to know that who was used to click on 'BUZZ' under Yahoo! Messenger with falling hearts environment... ?
Please answer...
Who do you think? Dhaasu...of course!
ReplyDeleteOk still you have left us high and dry by not telling the content of Ashleel batein...
ReplyDeleteBy the way...who is the fourth D coming in your gang?
Has to be someone from western India or any member who can match the madness!
DeleteAwesome.. Keep going girl..
ReplyDeletelook forward to lots of more events from you.
An excellent start to say the least...it’s trademark Atz... but “am a little too filmy” is a bit conservative statement.... “am toooooo much filmy” should have been more apt... and why “That Girl in Red Shoes” ... I thought it was purple ...eagerly waiting to hear some “Ashleel Baatein”...
